EV Costs Comparison ("we", "this site") provides free electric-vehicle cost calculators. This page explains what information the site does — and mostly doesn't — handle when you use it.
We do not collect, store or process personal information on our servers. There is no login, no email capture, and nothing you type into a calculator leaves your device.
To make the calculators convenient, the site stores your preferences in your browser's local storage. This includes your chosen country/region, light or dark theme, and the values you enter into calculators (distance driven, electricity price, and so on). This data stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and you can remove it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this website.
Like almost every website, the server that delivers these pages may automatically record standard technical logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested. These logs are used only for security and to keep the site running, and are handled by our hosting provider.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how many people visit and which pages they view. It is a privacy-first service: it uses no cookies, stores no persistent identifiers on your device, does not fingerprint your browser, and does not track you across other websites. We see anonymous totals (page views, visit counts, page load performance) — never who you are.
The site currently shows no ads and sets no advertising cookies. If advertising is ever introduced to help keep the calculators free, this page will be updated first to name the provider, describe any cookies involved, and explain how to opt out.
Pages on this site link to external sources such as government energy regulators, fuel-price monitors and charging networks. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.
This site is a set of cost calculators intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
If our practices change — for example, if analytics or advertising are added — we will update this page and the "last updated" date above before those changes take effect.
